Fun Run Pink: Brisbane takes place at Sleeman Sports Complex in Chandler, Queensland, featuring races on flat, closed roads within the sporting precinct. Occurring on the same day as Triathlon Pink, this event offers fun-run distances of 1km, 2.5km, 5km, and 10km, alongside children's races for ages 7-9 and 10-13. The multisport component involves a pool swim, followed by a closed-road cycling leg and run, with distances ranging from Short to Ultra.
The format is suitable for individuals seeking a managed, low-pressure initial event. Most triathlon participants are new to the sport, with the swim held in a pool instead of open water and the bike course free of traffic. Fun runners bypass the swim and bike but still utilize the closed-road course. The Ultra triathlon comprises a 600m swim, 16km bike, and 7.5km run, with Long and Medium distances scaling down from this. The Pink community also connects the event to fundraising for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, having raised over $2.6 million across more than 17 years.
