The Deep Creek Backyard Ultra is an endurance event held in Cairncross State Forest, Pembrooke. Participants run a 6.7 km loop through the forest each hour, starting at 7 am. The course features approximately 125 meters of elevation gain per loop, traversing eucalypt forests, fern-filled gullies, and open ridges. The trail is fully marked and begins at the race hub. Runners return to the hub after each loop to rest and refuel. There are no aid stations on the course, emphasizing self-sufficiency and pacing. As night falls, headlamps are required. The event continues until only one runner remains, who is then declared the champion. This event is suitable for ultra-runners looking for a challenging and scenic race.
