Bieg Rekina 2026

The Bieg Rekina, or “Shark Run,” is a 5 km race taking place in Łódź, Poland, at the Łódź Zoo near the Orientarium. The event is scheduled for June and provides two options: a chip-timed in-person race within the zoo grounds and a virtual 5 km that participants can run on a course of their selection. The in-person route consists of three laps inside the zoo, featuring a 45-minute time limit, medical support, and official results recorded via chips integrated into the race bibs. Fundacja Pangolin is the organizer, with Holding Łódź Sp. z o.o. serving as a strategic partner. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers; cash prizes are not offered. Participation packages include a medal, a commemorative T-shirt, and a cotton bag. Additionally, in-person participants receive zoo admission on the day of the race. The virtual run has fewer restrictions: there is no official ranking, no distance verification, and participants join at their own discretion.
