Sunshine Run 2026

The Sunshine Coast Marathon begins and ends at the Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving Club on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. This yearly August road-running event, first held in 2012, includes a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a 2K fun run. The marathon course winds through the beachfront sections of Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba, and Maroochydore. The route is IAAF-AIMS certified and recognized as a Boston Marathon qualifier, attracting dedicated marathoners aiming for a specific time and local participants choosing shorter distances. The festival typically sees around 6,500 participants, with the marathon field being smaller.
