Cyclists split between rolling chalk roads of the Surrey Hills and Chilterns, the punishing climbs of Yorkshire and Wales (Bealach na Bà, Hardknott Pass), and a deep time-trial tradition. The sportive calendar rivals continental Europe in volume.
