Sobre esta carrera
The Open Academic Championships of Łomża in Night Street Running is a city road race held in Łomża, Poland. It begins at 21:00 from Akademicka 1. Participants can select a 5 km or an officially certified 10 km distance. The primary 10 km course follows city streets illuminated by streetlights. The race office opens in the evening, a group warm-up is planned before the start, and timing concludes just over an hour after the runners begin.
Akademia Łomżyńska, along with the university AZS club, organizes this race. While it has an academic foundation, it is open to all. Students, university staff, local runners, and visitors are welcome to participate, with a cap on entrants to maintain a manageable field size. The event commemorates the university's founding and encourages physical activity. Its night format distinguishes it from typical daytime road races. All finishers receive medals, the quickest runners are awarded trophies, and the Mayor of Łomża provides honorary patronage.
