Big Beautiful Life Run Walk & Roll AND First Responder Touch-A-Truck 2026

The Big Beautiful Life Run Walk & Roll is a community race and activity morning held at Essex Middle School in Essex Junction, Vermont. Addi’s Engine begins at 10:00 AM, with the main event running from 8:15 AM to 12:30 PM. This event combines a run/walk/roll with Essex Fire’s First Responder Touch-A-Truck, designed for families, wheelchair users, walkers, runners, children, and anyone interested in interacting with fire department vehicles and personnel. The event benefits Big Beautiful Life, a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit established in memory of Addi Carroll. The organization supports children and young adults up to age 25 who have life-limiting, medically complex conditions, providing comfort, practical assistance, and community for their families. The connection to the fire department is personal; Addi shared a close relationship with Essex firefighters, and the organization's narrative highlights how she brought firefighters, teachers, doctors, nurses, scientists, pilots, clergy, friends, and others into a unified circle. Consequently, the Touch-A-Truck component is more than just a child-focused addition; it represents one of the core relationships central to the event.
