Om dette løpet

The 19th edition of the Maratonina dei Borghi (Half Marathon of the Villages) returned to Pordenone with an edition that will leave its mark. The international Fidal-certified competition, 21.097 kilometers long, led runners along an itinerary that touched some of the most suggestive places in the city. The Pordenone race, now an autumn tradition for the city, saw excellent participation with 640 registered runners, achieving the best result in recent years. This year featured many novelties, particularly regarding the course. The organizing association, Equipe, opted for a new route, no longer a single loop but with two passages. The athletes started from Piazza XX Settembre, passing through Piazza Cavour and Via Mazzini, then crossing Rorai Grande, returning to the center to head towards Torre and then the Seminario park, concluding the race with the usual straight on Viale Martelli and the finish line back in Piazza XX Settembre. The podium was, as tradition dictates, reserved for athletes from Africa. The winner was Kenyan Rodgers Maiyo with a time of 1:05:26, followed by compatriots Abraham Ekwam (1:06:24) and Kevin Kibet (1:07:27). The first Italian was Tobia Beltrame (Sicilia Running Team) at 1:11:28. Among women, Ethiopian Betelhem Tenaw won with 1:14:36, followed by Rwandan Clementine Mukandanga (1:16:00) and another Ethiopian, Asmerawork Wolkeba (1:18:55). The first Italian woman was Astrid Faganel at 1:27:19. The new course was successful, with more public engagement, especially in the urban sections and the new gravel path in the Seminario park. The event saw a significant deployment of volunteers and local police.
