Hello Summer Run 2026

The Hello Summer Run is a new early-summer race day held at Buhach Colony High School in Atwater, California. It is organized by the school’s cross country team. The primary distance is a 5K, divided into a faster Thunder Heat for high school, college, and local elite runners, and an open 5K with age-group competition. A 400-meter kids race is also available for children ages 2 to 10. The schedule begins with the Thunder Heat, followed by the kids race, and then the open 5K. This order ensures the fastest runners start first while families have their own event. Open 5K participants compete in age groups ranging from 11-13 up to 50+, with medals awarded to the top three in each category. The Thunder Heat only recognizes the top three overall finishers. Following the races, the venue transforms into a pop-up vendor gathering featuring food options, creating a community atmosphere supported by the school, extending beyond just the racecourse.
