About this race

The Riverbluff Triathlon is a multisport race held in Ashland City, Tennessee, located a short drive from Nashville. The staging area and transition zone are situated at the Riverbluff Park boat ramp parking area. Known as Bluffs, Bikes & Beats, the event provides triathlon, aquabike, and bike-run formats. Both sprint and Olympic distances are available for individuals and relay teams. Sprint participants begin with a 400-meter swim, while Olympic-distance competitors swim 1.1 kilometers. The race welcomes younger athletes, with sprint and virtual entries open to those 13 and older, and Olympic individual entries for those 15 and older. The swim takes place in Cheatham Lake, part of the Cumberland River system. Athletes begin the swim one at a time in a time-trial start, with approximately three seconds between each participant. The bike course is flat, and the run course has rolling hills. Typical race conditions are warm, with average air temperatures around 77°F and average water temperatures around 74°F. Wetsuit regulations are based on water temperature: wetsuits are permitted in a common mid-range, mandatory in cold water, and prohibited in very warm water. Following the race, attendees can enjoy food and live music. The event supports The Quintenn Clark Foundation.
