BRADBURY BRUISER 2026

SUN, August 9, 2026 · Pownal , United States

About this race

The Bradbury Bruiser is a rugged trail race at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, Maine, serving as the third stop in the Bradbury Mountain Trail Race Series. The race covers approximately 12 miles on single-track trails, with a course designed around rocks, roots, bumps, hills, and tight turns, prioritizing technical challenge over speed. Trail Monster Running organizes this volunteer-run nonprofit event. Each race in the series is limited to 160 runners due to parking constraints at the park. There is no wait list, no bib transfer, and no same-day registration, requiring participants to plan ahead. The route utilizes the park’s East Side trail system in a winding loop, reserving one of its most challenging sections for the end. The final two miles follow the O-Trail, a technical stretch that demands effort until the finish. The cutoff time is 3 hours 36 minutes, equating to an 18-minute mile pace. Race morning includes bib pickup and check-in. Registered runners receive shirts on-site only if they are present. The first overall male and female finishers select prizes first from the prize table, while decade age-group winners are entered into random prize drawings. Runners completing four races in the series within the cutoff times earn a Bad Ass Hoodie, and the overall series champions receive handcrafted Adirondack chairs. Proceeds support race equipment and local outdoor and trail nonprofits, such as the Royal River Conservation Trust. Leftover shirts or hoodies are donated to local homeless shelters.
