Giro al Sas:la storica corsa nel cuore di Trento 2026

The Giro al Sas is a 10 km autumn road race held in Trento, where international athletes compete on repeated laps within the city’s historic center. Its distinctive feature is a compact one-kilometer circuit, ensuring spectators remain close to the action rather than seeing the field disappear far away. The circuit follows Via Roma, Via Oss Mazzurana, Via Mantova, and Via San Pietro, allowing fans to line the streets and observe the leaders pass multiple times. The race originated over a century ago as a dedication to San Vigilio, Trento’s patron saint, and past winners include Stefano Baldini and Paul Tergat. Separate afternoon races are organized for younger participants, featuring CSI provincial youth championships and the Giro al Sas Kids for children aged 2 to 8, preceding the evening Giro al Sas dei campioni which showcases elite specialists.
