Om detta lopp
The Paras' 10 challenge is a 10-mile speed march in military boots carrying a 35lb Bergen rucksack, beginning at Catterick Garrison at 11am. The Parachute Regiment organises it, offering civilians a version of the test for P Company selection. Entrants may also complete the distance as a 10-mile run, but the loaded march provides the event's challenge.
The route crosses undulating military terrain, making the ground as demanding as the pack weight. Civilians, charity fundraisers, fitness challengers, and teams of four participate, with three members' times counting for the team prize. The event supports The Support Our Paras Charity and is run by the charity with active soldiers from the Parachute Regiment. WO1 JJ Wilson established it, and following an initial period at Aldershot, it was reinstated at Catterick by Major Sam McGrath before extending to other Parachute Regiment bases.
