The Henderson Shuffle is a 12-hour run or walk held in Henderson Park, Auckland. It is structured around a 4km loop, with participants completing as many laps as they wish within the 12-hour timeframe. Runners and walkers can stop and restart as needed. The event is non-timed, with no cut-off for individual loops, making it suitable for those exploring ultra-distance running without strict pace requirements.
The loop begins on wide cycle paths, proceeds along Henderson Creek towards Border Road, and returns via a bush trail on the opposite side of the stream. A lap typically takes a runner 20-30 minutes, or a walker 40-50 minutes. Participants must be self-sufficient, with the option to set up tents, provided they maintain park cleanliness and remove their rubbish. Medals are awarded to finishers. Spot prizes will be given out, and hot food will be available from Pilgrams Bandits, a New Zealand charity supporting former defence force, police, and first responders. A coffee cart will also be present at Wilsher Crescent.
