O wyścigu
Race for DFL is a backyard ultra at Kenty’s Farm in Winchendon, Massachusetts, with each lap starting from an actual backyard setting. The main race uses the last-runner-standing format: runners begin a 4.1666-mile loop every hour on the hour, starting at 8:00 a.m., and anyone who fails to finish the lap and return for the next start is out. The race keeps going until only one runner can answer the bell. It is also a Bronze Ticket Backyard Ultra, so the winner earns a spot at a Silver Ticket event, which feeds into Big’s World Championship.
The loop runs through wooded farm trails, a nearby rail trail, and a rocky farm road, with Joslin Road adding a dirt-road arrival to the setup. Runners who want a fixed-time effort can choose 6-hour, 12-hour, or 24-hour races on the same loop, with short add-on sections available near the end when the clock allows. There is also a single-lap option where people can jump into any Saturday lap on the hour and get ranked by their best lap time. Pacers may join timed-race runners after 6 hours, one at a time, and the first 150 entrants get pompom hats.
