Badger Challenge

The Badger Challenge is a September cycling, running, and walking fundraiser in Madison, Wisconsin, held at the McClimon Track Complex. The event raises money for cancer research at the University of Wisconsin and the UW Carbone Cancer Center, with 100% of participant-raised dollars directed to that work. The available course detail is broad rather than turn-by-turn: people participate by bike, on a run, or on foot, so the day is built for riders, runners, walkers, volunteers, and fundraising teams rather than one narrow race field. Dr. Deric Wheeler and Dr. Paul Harari founded it as a small cyclist-focused fundraiser, and it now reaches across Wisconsin after a decade of events and more than $5.4 million raised for UW cancer research, patient treatment, research ideas, and new technologies.
