BADEN WINE ROUTE 2026 | La Reine

La Reine Badische Weinstrasse is a women-only Gran Fondo based in Freiburg, Germany, with start and finish in the city center. The weekend is limited to 500 riders and is described by the organizer as the largest women's race globally. Riders select between a 170 km Gran Fondo with 2,000 meters of climbing and a 100 km Medio Fondo with 1,200 meters, ensuring both routes offer substantial road cycling challenges. The field starts together through central Freiburg behind a police escort before entering the vineyards, wine villages, and ridges of the Baden Wine Route. Timing and classification are applied only on designated sections, blending racing with a shared long ride. The event commences with Friday number pickup, workshops, and an aperitif at Hotel Stadt Freiburg, concluding after the Münsterplatz finish with a party in the Historisches Kaufhaus. On the route, participants receive five vegetarian culinary stops, neutral service, route photographers, personalized numbers, and a personal photo set included in the entry fee.
