Om dette løpet
The Beav Trail Race takes runners through Hilton Falls Conservation Area in Milton, Ontario, on an autumn trail-running day with 10 km, 25 km, and 50 km options. Happy Trails Racing organizes the event, sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Most of the running occurs on fast, groomed trails, but the route includes short technical sections, making it more than just a simple path through the woods. The 10 km is an out-and-back course around the reservoir, and the 50 km consists of two laps of the 25 km loop with a 9-hour time limit.
The longer loop departs Hilton Falls for a portion, utilizing Halton Region trails such as the Britton Tract and Robertson Tract, requiring a separate waiver for 25 km and 50 km participants. A notable segment follows the Bruce Trail to the base of Hilton Falls. The race name is fitting; one previous edition saw part of the course flooded due to a beaver dam. The event is cup-less, finishers get a custom medal, 25 km and 50 km entrants receive a hoodie, and fundraising partners include MedVents and the Movember Foundation.
