Over deze race
Veni Vici is a November race in France's Gard region, following the old Roman aqueduct line between Uzès, the Pont du Gard, and Nîmes. The 18 km event is part of a larger program of runs, Nordic walks, and hikes, with distances ranging from 13 km to 82 km. This variety attracts both competitive racers and those seeking a long walk through Roman landscapes.
The course begins near Uzès and traces terrain associated with the aqueduct that supplied water to Nîmes. Participants pass through the Eure valley, the aqueduct's historical source, and villages like Saint-Maximin and Argilliers before approaching Vers-Pont-du-Gard. Notable sections include proximity to the aqueduct's arches, a passage within the canal, and the quarries where stone for the Pont du Gard was sourced. The finish is at the base of the Pont du Gard, providing a distinct endpoint.
