The EnergyVision Semi Marathon de Nivelles begins and ends on Nivelles' Grand Place, beneath the Sint-Gertrudiskerk. Held in September, it is Brabant Walloon's largest running event. Beyond the half marathon, the schedule features a 12 km race, a 5 km race, a 1 km Persil Kids Run, and a 5 km walk. The event intentionally accommodates a wide range of participants, including children, adults, experienced runners, novices, and walkers, all within the same city-center program.
The day commences with the 5 km walk, followed by the children's race, the 12 km and half marathon, and concluding with the 5 km run. Over 5,000 runners and walkers register annually, contributing to the event's atmosphere, which blends a local festival feel with a road race. Joëlettes, specialized single-wheeled chairs, enable individuals with reduced mobility to participate in walking or running events. Nivelles also hosts an event within the EnergyVision Running Tour, an eight-race Belgian city circuit that includes races like the Jogging de la Ville de Namur and Genk Loopt&Wandelt.
