PKO Race of the Three Mounds 2026

The PKO Race of the Three Mounds is a 13-kilometer mountain-style race in Krakow, connecting Krakus, Kościuszko, and Piłsudski mounds. Organized since 2007, it has a limit of 3,500 runners for safety. The race begins below Krakus Mound and concludes at the base of Piłsudski Mound, with participants having 2 hours to finish. This is not a flat city run; the elevation change is 160 meters, and nearly a quarter of the course consists of unpaved paths. The route's ascents and descents qualify it internationally as an Anglo-Saxon mountain race, with ups and downs rather than a predominantly uphill course. Its unique aspect is the location: it is Poland's only mountain race held within the center of a major city. Following the last summit, runners enter Wolski Forest, with the finish line situated near Krakow Zoo. The event also features a local culinary tradition, offering traditional Krakow maczanka post-race.
