Informazioni su questa gara
Flagstaff Sky Peaks is a fall trail-running weekend in Flagstaff, Arizona, based at Arizona Snowbowl on the western side of the San Francisco Peaks. It is a high-altitude mountain series with races from short trail runs to ultras, including a Friday Agassiz Hill Climb, Saturday distances such as 50 miles, 50K, 26K, 11K, 5K, 12-hour and 6-hour events, and Sunday mountain races of 20K and 6K. The event reaches 11,500 feet, which makes it Arizona’s highest footrace.
Most races start and finish near Humphrey’s Yurt at Arizona Snowbowl, with some race information also listing the Hotshots Camp near the base of Snowbowl Road. The Friday hill climb gains about 2,100 feet in only 1.4 miles to the top of the Arizona Gondola, and runners can ride the gondola back down afterward. Most courses begin with the 3.4-mile Agassiz Loop before moving onto Arizona Trail singletrack, ski-area terrain, aspen groves, ponderosa pine forest, Coconino Forest trails, and dirt roads. The 50-mile Ring The Sky route circles the San Francisco Peaks, the Aspen Dream 50K runs through aspens on the Arizona Trail, the Quad Bomber 26K includes Aspen Loop and a long descent on the Arizona Trail, and the Rocky Moto 10K stays on winding trails under ponderosa pines.
