Informazioni su questa gara
Cryin on the Climb is a trail race in Provo, Utah, with a straightforward format: run one mile up, descend one mile, and repeat for 12 hours. Each ascent includes 1,000 feet of vertical gain, making the race about completing as many steep laps as possible rather than covering a specific route. High Altitude Races organizes the event, and its loop format resembles a short-course mountain ultra repeated continuously.
The course is a 2-mile out-and-back from Slate Canyon Trailhead, featuring challenging singletrack and an aid station at the bottom that runners pass each lap. This station is equipped for an all-day effort, which is significant as the repeated descent contributes to the challenge, rather than offering respite. The race directors created the route with the intention of it being sufficiently difficult to test participants while also being appealing enough for runners to want to return. Expect trail runners who appreciate steep ascents, lap-based strategy, and the unique feeling of measuring an entire day by the number of times they ascend the same hill.
