Sparkassen Küstenmarathon Otterndorf

The Sparkassen Küstenmarathon Otterndorf is a coastal race day in Otterndorf, a small town in northern Germany. The town hall, the Elbe dike, and the North Sea coast form the backdrop. Held annually, the event supports children's rights. The program offers multiple distances: 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, 25 km, marathon, and a four-person marathon relay. Walkers, Nordic walkers, handbikers, and Pedalo riders have a separate route. Children have their own races, including a 421-meter Bambini run for kindergarteners and 1,000- and 2,000-meter school runs. The longer courses lead from the town center towards the dike, following the Elbe and passing the sailing harbor, with sections along the water, on the dike, and through the historic old town. The marathon course consists of four laps, beginning and ending at the town hall, incorporating parts of the Hadler Canal, the dike crown, the green beach, and the holiday area. Participants from Germany and abroad attend Otterndorf each year. The event is organized by TSV Otterndorf, VfL Wingst, and TSV Wanna. Off the course, the church square hosts a children's program with music, circus activities, a bouncy castle, face painting, crafts, and bicycle coding. After the race, participants can receive free massages and use the Sole-Therme salt-water thermal bath.
