MUSH Fort Custer Dryland is a two-day dryland sled dog race at Fort Custer, with teams racing on dirt trails instead of snow. The schedule covers canicross, bikejoring, scooter, and wheeled rig classes, so runners, cyclists, scooter drivers, and multi-dog rig teams all share the same event. Adult canicross uses one or two dogs over 2.9 miles, while junior canicross includes a 1-mile beginner class and a 2.4-mile advanced class.
The race also includes 5-dog and 3-dog rig classes, 1-dog and 2-dog bike and scooter classes, a junior 3-dog rig class, and a junior wheeled mixed class for rigs, bikes, or scooters with one or two dogs. Saturday fun runs give canicross and wheeled teams a lower-pressure option. MUSH membership is required, regular sled dog race rules apply, and the organizers stress trail etiquette and clean passing; the course plan is being adjusted to remove head-on passing, with the finish line moved to support that change.
