Plantsoenloop Groningen

Plantsoenloop Groningen is an autumn running event in Groningen, taking place in and around Noorderplantsoen park. It is the city's oldest run, originating in the 1950s. Instead of one main race, it provides short, accessible distances: Kids Runs of 1 and 2 kilometers, a 4 kilometer run, and an 8 kilometer option for participants aged 12 and older. The course is contained within Noorderplantsoen, a historic park designed in English landscape style. Runners navigate park paths, ponds, flat sections, and minor inclines, rather than city streets. The 8 kilometer race consists of two 4 kilometer laps and is timed. Participants include children, novice runners, club athletes, and competitive racers. All finishers are awarded a medal.
