Sierra Blanca Estates Marbella Half Marathon

The Sierra Blanca Estates Marbella Half Marathon takes place in late September on Spain’s Costa del Sol. The Sierra Blanca mountains form a backdrop to the city, with the Mediterranean Sea bordering much of the course. Participants can select from a 21.098 km half marathon, a 5 km race, or a 3-person relay. This variety means the event hosts individuals running the full 13.1 miles alongside teams and shorter-distance participants sharing the day. The start and finish are located near the Paseo Marítimo, positioning the race along Marbella’s seafront from its commencement. The half marathon route is a coastal circuit that follows Marbella’s promenade, extends towards Puerto Banús, circles the lighthouse, and briefly passes through Marbella Marina on the outbound leg. The course also incorporates sections of Marbella’s old town and waterfront. Views of luxury villas, yachts, and the marina contribute to a distinct Marbella character, differentiating it from a standard seaside race. The event attracts an international field, with participants hailing from over 70 countries. A recent edition saw approximately 2,600 runners, and early registration interest indicates continued growth on the Costa del Sol.
