Salzburg Trailrunning Festival - Gaisbergrace und Gaisbergtrail

The Salzburg Trailrunning Festival’s Gaisbergtrail is a 23.9 km trail race starting in Salzburg’s old town. It leads runners from city streets onto the local hills surrounding the city, including Kapuzinerberg, Kühberg, Gaisberg, and Nonnberg. Early on, runners cross the Salzach, pass through Steingasse, and turn onto the Basteiweg along the old city wall. The Imbergstiege presents a climb of 1,718 steps up Kapuzinerberg, leading to a view over Salzburg and the fortress before the trail proceeds along the wall.
