YMCA Maple Leaf Walk Run

The YMCA Maple Leaf Walk Run begins and ends at Riverside Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Participants depart early on a September morning, prior to the Oktoberfest parade. The event includes a half marathon, a 5 Mile run, a 5K, and a Kids Maple Mile, along with virtual participation for the main distances. Proceeds benefit the Y's Food Program, making it as much a community fundraiser as a race. The course incorporates a section of the Oktoberfest parade route, establishing a firm deadline for participants: roads reopen mid-morning, and the half marathon has a 2 hour 45 minute time limit. Staggered starts send the half marathon runners off first, followed by the 5 Mile and 5K participants. Upon completion back at Riverside Park, runners receive a treat, and the event connects with Oktoberfest La Crosse through a race partnership.
