About this race

The Live Wildly Open Water Team Challenge is an open-water swim in Florida, coinciding with World Swim Day. The primary event is a 4-mile team relay on a quarter-mile loop. Teams of three to eight swimmers alternate in the water. Solo options are also available for individuals not participating in a relay. In the relay, each swimmer completes one loop before tagging the next teammate. No swimmer can complete two consecutive loops, and no swimmer may swim more than three loops in total. This structure makes the race a test of both pace and strategic team order. The solo endurance format includes a short land section where swimmers exit the water after each loop, run around shoreline flags, and re-enter the water. The event benefits Live Wildly’s efforts to conserve the Florida Wildlife Corridor, a vast 18-million-acre network of connected habitats from the Panhandle to the Everglades.
