Billingens Långlopp takes place at Billingen’s new ski arena in Skövde, with southern Sweden’s largest ski festival centered on long-distance cross-country racing. The arena features a new artificial-snow system and modern facilities, ensuring good skiing conditions and a well-organized event. Billingens Långlopp is included in Svenska Långloppscupen The Originals, a national series that unites many of Sweden’s classic and popular long-distance ski races under quality-assured standards.
The course details are not extensive, but organizers collaborate with the municipality to maintain the tracks for the recreational race. The festival offers competition classes, a recreational race, and Billingen Fifteen, a 15 km women-only ski race on Friday evening. Following Billingen Fifteen, activities and after-ski events are held at Hotell Billingehus. Participants vary, with some seeking a demanding test of endurance and others a winter outing, and Skövde provides additional attractions during the race weekend.
