Skierniewicki Bieg Niepodleglosci 2026

Skierniewice hosts the Course de l'Indépendance to commemorate Poland's Independence Day, opting for a short road race instead of a formal parade. The course is typically around 5 km, allowing beginners, casual runners, club athletes, and more experienced competitors to participate together. Hundreds of participants gather annually, blending race-day excitement with a patriotic holiday assembly. The event begins with a communal singing of the national anthem, providing a more solemn start than a typical local 5K. Many participants wear white and red or affix national cockades, with these colors contributing to the day's significance. While results are recorded, the race prioritizes the collective commemoration: participants run, observe the holiday, and fill the course with national colors.
