About this race
The HAT ROAD changes pace and in 2026 presents itself in a new guise: a single Marathon, connecting the sea to the plain, from Viareggio to Voghera, the new arrival point. A long crossing, a dense network of winding and inviting asphalt roads. From Tuscany to Lombardy, two intense days, with curves and ups and downs that follow one another without stopping. The HAT ROAD is a journey whose philosophy remains to abandon the main roads, choosing the less traveled ones, which mostly wind through hills. There are no restrictions on the categories of motorcycles admitted, however, given the nature of the roads tackled, supersport bikes are not recommended. The HAT ROAD is not a competition, but a tourist adventure (also to be experienced with a passenger) that everyone can tailor to their needs: to allow everyone to experience the same adventure, along the same route, choosing the formula that best suits their needs, the new edition introduces the Discovery category in addition to the Classic. Furthermore, it is not mandatory to complete the entire route or to pass through all the checkpoints provided; each participant can decide at any time to shorten the route or withdraw. The journey is made unique by the proven collaboration with Paolo Conta, creator of "Bitumenduro", an expert tracker, capable of leading participants to surprising places, often unknown to most. The itinerary includes departure from Viareggio, arrival in Voghera, while a dedicated roadbook will help each motorcyclist manage times and pace, allowing them to reach both the intermediate stop of the route and the final destination without stress. Navigation will be via official GPX track, with the presence of secret checkpoints that certify the correct completion of the marathon. Those who complete the entire itinerary passing through all controls obtain the 100% Marathon Prize, a symbol of commitment, perseverance, and respect for the track. From 2026, there will be no HAT ROADs coinciding with the Adventourfests: only one major event, only one Marathon.
