Σχετικά με τον αγώνα
La Ronde Picarde is a 117 km cycling event around Eaucourt-sur-Somme in maritime Picardy, near the Baie de Somme. It is a local cycling institution: riders come for a straightforward day on the bike, not for a polished big-city spectacle.
The route rolls through open country, coastal Picardy, and Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, the port linked with William the Conqueror’s departure for England. It is typical Picard riding: no huge mountain passes, but enough short hills to wear down the legs, plus exposed roads where the wind can be the hardest opponent. After the ride, cyclists gather back in the village under the patronage of Henri Sannier, with local add-ons like the Parc du Marquenterre, the small steam train, or a piece of gâteau battu.
