Om dette løb
The Lauwersmeer SwimRun begins at Siblu Camping in Lauwersoog, near the former Lauwerszee, leading participants through Nationaal Park Lauwersmeer. This is an open-water swimrun, meaning competitors navigate a continuous course of swimming and running without sport changes in a transition zone. The event provides short, middle, and long distances, specified by organizers as 10 km, 10 miles, and 15 miles, with solo and duo categories offered.
The course incorporates both fresh and salt water, distinguishing it from typical lake swimruns. Runners traverse fields, forests, and dikes, with elevated sections offering views of the Waddenzee and Schiermonnikoog. Participants wear the same attire throughout: shoes are worn for swimming, and wetsuits are worn for running. Stichting 40Mijl is the organizer, affiliated with the NTB, Atletiekunie, and kWbn.
