Santa Barbara Half Marathon & 5K

The Santa Barbara Half Marathon & 5K is a fall race weekend in Santa Barbara, California, featuring the city’s only waterfront half marathon. The event offers a half marathon, a 5K, and a HOKA Kids Fun Run, suitable for both dedicated training and family outings. The participant range, typically between 1,000 and 10,000, provides a lively atmosphere without the scale of a major city race. The half marathon route is along the waterfront, with much of the weekend activities, including packet pickup and the finish line festival, taking place in the Funk Zone. The event also incorporates the Palm Park Festival and SB Running Week, creating a local Santa Barbara weekend atmosphere beyond a standard race. Since 2021, Run Local and participants have contributed over $190,000 to local organizations through a partnership with the Santa Barbara Running Association, primarily supporting youth running programs.
